The Restoration of Freshwater Aquatic Systems Course providing training on how to develop a restoration plan for an aquatic ecosystem within Clayoquot Sound. It introduced participants to types of ecosystem disturbances, mitigation processes, restoration techniques and monitoring.

Restoration techniques included the placement of large woody debris structures and boulders, construction of weirs, and placement of spawning gravel.

At the end of the course students were able to identify threats to aquatic ecosystems, conduct water quality and benthic invertebrate sampling, and suggest ways to improve an aquatic system through learned restoration practices.
